aRCHiVe | PLASTIC, PAINT & PRESTIGE

Welcome to a physical manifestation of my inner world.

For years, the walls of my South End apartment have served as a private sanctuary. These pieces have been my silent interlocutors: the vibrant, soul-deep strokes of Haitian art that ground me in my heritage; the 90s toys that serve as colorful anchors to a definitive era of imagination; and the contemporary works that challenge how I see the world today.

"The Archive: Plastic, Paint & Prestige" is more than an exhibition; it is an act of vulnerability. By moving these works from the intimate corners of my home to the expansive light of the Piano Craft Gallery, I am inviting you into my most personal thoughts. There is a profound weight in unboxing "never before seen" pieces—items that were bought, kept, collected and cherished not for a public gallery, but for a private life.

Sharing this space is a milestone I don’t take lightly, especially alongside these featured artists whose work resonates with the same pulse as my own collection. As a member of the Board of Directors here at the gallery, it is my mission to ensure our neighbors see themselves reflected in these halls. Their presence here creates a vital dialogue between the curated past and the creative present.

To bring this global perspective—ranging from toy culture and high fashion to fine art and music—to the heart of Boston in June is my way of giving back to the community that inspires me. This show is an invitation to see how a collection isn't just a series of objects, but a map of a journey. Thank you for stepping into my home, and into my heart.

Jahnae Wyatt

Jahnae Wyatt is a Boston-based fine art painter and draftsman whose work bridges the gap between classical tradition and contemporary identity. A 2023 Cum Laude graduate of Lesley University College of Art and Design, Jahnae originally found inspiration in the Old Masters. However, her formal education pushed her to evolve beyond those traditional styles, allowing her to develop a unique, innovative voice that challenges the historical lack of representation in the classical canon.

Driven by a mission to center Black femininity, Jahnae focuses on creating "true to life" narratives. She noticed that classical art often excluded Black subjects and that contemporary portrayals often utilized unrealistic color palettes for skin. In response, she dedicated herself to mastering the accurate rendering of Black and brown skin tones, incorporating authentic elements like natural hair products and head wraps to ensure her work is both beautiful and representative.

Looking toward the future, Jahnae aims to expand the diversity of art education and documentation. She is currently working toward creating her own inclusive art book that features a wide variety of ethnicities and cultures. By combining technical accuracy with diverse storytelling, Jahnae hopes to provide future generations with a more comprehensive and realistic reflection of the world through fine art.

Sophia Dubuisson | PHIA | www.phiaart.com

Phia, a Boston based multidisciplinary artist, Sophia Dubuisson, known as Phia has been honing her skills in drawing, painting and various different mediums for the past 10 years.

While completing  her high school studies, she discovered a passion for art. Since then she has paired her love for Art with her fascination with the human mind. In 2021 she graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a B.A. in Psychology.

Phia blends her portraiture skills with her experience in her field of study to bring about the perfect marriage of her two passions on a canvas.

Phia’s evolution as an artist is a depiction of the essence of life itself. Dabbling into different mediums in the search of “the” one. Trapping the most basic, yet very complex thing that is emotions. She challenges her viewers to find themselves, to revisit those emotions, utilizing facial expressions, movements, colors and composition.

Jeremy germbot | www.andcruz.com | Artist & Artisan

Born and raised in the grit and cultural tapestry of Lowell, Massachusetts, Jeremy—known to his community as “germ”—draws deep inspiration from the urban landscapes and skate culture of his youth. The son of Puerto Ricans who arrived from the village of Comerío in the 1970s, Jeremy’s work is fueled by a lifelong ambition to redefine the boundaries of financial and creative freedom, proving that a career in the arts is a viable path to success.

A pivotal moment in Jeremy’s life occurred in 2010 when an unexpected heart surgery resulted in a mechanical valve replacement. This fusion of man and machine gave birth to his artistic persona, “germbot,” a moniker that symbolizes resilience and transformation. This personal evolution is mirrored in his professional trajectory, which includes a background in Fine Arts from Middlesex Community College and a career at Concepts in Boston, where he contributed creatively to high-profile marketing campaigns.

Currently, Jeremy serves as an artisan for Golden Goose, where he applies his distinct aesthetic to one-of-a-kind custom sneakers and apparel. When not working on global brands, he co-manages a boutique in Downtown Lowell with his wife. The space serves as both a gallery for his latest works and a vital community hub, acting as a support system for local artists and a creative meeting ground for clients.
