Musician Opportunities

Piano Craft Gallery provides an intimate and unique venue for concerts in Boston. While Piano Craft Gallery is primarily an exhibition space for visual art, we’ve found that musical performances can be integrated throughout the year to create additional opportunities for expression and enjoyment of the arts.

Performance Models

  • Our rental model allows musicians to work with Piano Craft Gallery to schedule a concert or performance entirely produced by the musician. Our rental model charges musicians $50/hour for use of our gallery space. This model allows musicians to sell tickets for their concert or performance.

  • Our guest model is for musicians who would like to perform during other gallery events such as art receptions, parties, and other events. Musicians performing under our guest model are free to solicit donations.

  • Our Chickering Salon Series is an on-going program of concerts and performances selected by Piano Craft Gallery Director, Fredericka King. Musicians selected as part of the Chickering Salon Series are eligible for payment.

Piano Craft Gallery is announcing its call for musicians for the Piano Craft Concert Series. 12 musicians or groups will be selected by our Board of Directors to perform at the gallery. Piano Craft Gallery is looking to represent the diversity of music-making in the City of Boston and each performance will receive a $500 honorarium. This program is supported by the Neighborhood and Downtown Activation Grant from the Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture and the City of Boston.

Any musician living in the City of Boston is eligible to apply. The City of Boston is defined as any one or combination of the following neighborhoods: Allston, Back Bay, Bay Village, Beacon Hill, Brighton, Charlestown, Chinatown, Dorchester, Downtown, East Boston, Fenway/Kenmore, Hyde Park, Jamaica Plain, Mattapan, Roslindale, Roxbury, Seaport, South Boston, South End, West End, and West Roxbury.
