Boston Young Black Professionals (YBP), a 501(c)3 charity organization since 2022, was founded in August 2012 with the intent of bringing together young, black professionals for networking, fellowship, and community-building. (Mission statement)

We started out with a small, intimate monthly after work meetup, and we have grown into a 5,000 member community. Our signature events include an annual YBP beach day, annual Boston Juneteenth picnic, and monthly networking mixers but we also host or co-host movie night meetups, winter skiing/snowboarding meetups and workshops to elevate our community financially. We continue to foster a space for small, informal gatherings of all kinds and are always happy to meet you and pretend like we've known you for years! We create social and professional development experiences through hosting and collaborations that support you in building long lasting relationships, and help you thrive in Boston.

All our events are an intentional effort to address the perception of Boston as a city that is unwelcoming to Black and Brown people and help connect Black and Brown people in a city that can otherwise feel isolating. We are free and open to any young, black professional (between the ages of 21-39) in the Greater Boston area. Our gathering together is an act of resistance and the declaration that #weareblackboston
