THE SOUTH END BRUNCH CLUB CONCLUDES 2025 WITH MEL KING/KWAANZA BRUNCH IN BOSTON’S SOUTH END DECEMBER 27TH.

(BOSTON) - The South End Brunch Club (TSEBC) will host their fifth and final Mel King Monthly Brunch for 2025 on December 27th at the Piano Craft Gallery 793 Tremont Street, Boston MA 11AM-2pm. The theme for the brunch will incorporate the second day of the African American celebration Kwanzaa; Kujichagulia (Self Determination). In addition the South End Brunch Club will award its third Mel King Leadership Award to Harrison Clark, a current UMASS student and community activist who has traveled around the country to speak on subjects like reparations.

Boston City Council Member Ed Flynn will be in attendance as will newly elected Council Member of District 7 Minnard Culpepper.

Mel King, who passed away in 2023, was a civil rights activist, organizer and university instructor. King opened his home to the community for over fifty years hosting a Sunday brunch for all to attend. TSEBC was established this year and includes native Bostonians who cherish the opportunity to honor and continue the tradition of the Mel King brunch. The TSEBC’s first four Mel King Monthly Brunches have been wildly successful with all four  reaching capacity status.
