Re-Emergence—A New Hope: Newton Art Association Juried Show Apr 2-25, 2021
The Piano Craft Gallery invites you to Re-Emergence, a juried exhibition by the Newton Art Association.
For the third year, the Newton Art Association is collaborating with Boston’s Piano Craft Gallery to present a juried exhibition. The theme of this year’s show, Re-Emergence—a New Hope, anticipates a return to a more open and interactive way of life. Last year’s exhibit was cut short by the Covid-19 pandemic closures.
Some 26 NAA artists will display 40 pieces of artwork in this juried competition, including paintings, fabric art, ceramics, and sculpture. The jurors and award judges are Erik Grau and Kamal Ahmad, members of the PCG Board of Directors.
The show opens on the First Friday, April 2. The opening reception is scheduled for 6:00–8:00 p.m. in the gallery with a Zoom awards ceremony hosted simultaneously by the NAA from 7:00–8:00. Haley Neville, PCG board member, will present the awards and provide a live walking tour of the works on the walls. Award-winning artists will discuss their work during the presentation. The Newton Art Association is an organization of nearly 250 active art enthusiasts and artists, representing all branches of the visual arts, from drawing and painting to fiber arts and sculpture. The majority of our members live in the surrounding Newton area, including Boston, and New England.
The Newton Art Association, founded in 1949 by the late James King Bonnar and a small group of artists, seeks to encourage the expression of fine arts in the greater Newton community. Outstanding New England artists demonstrate their techniques at free NAA programs on the second Thursdays of the month, September through May at the Newton Senior Center, 345 Walnut Street in Newtonville. The NAA also organizes critiques, lectures, workshops and exhibits for members throughout the year.
